Specialist exhaust engineering, built around real vehicles

MPDG Ltd designs and manufactures bespoke exhaust systems, manifolds and tubular assemblies for performance, motorsport and specialist vehicle applications.

Founded by Matt Patterson, the company combines practical fabrication with an engineering-led approach to flow, packaging, acoustics, thermal behaviour and repeatable manufacture.

About Matt Patterson

Matt’s background includes motorsport and aerospace welding environments, where control, consistency and attention to detail are fundamental. MPDG applies that mindset to each stage of exhaust development — from the first routing study to the final welded assembly.

The aim is not simply to produce something visually impressive. Each decision must support the function of the system, the requirements of the vehicle and the realities of manufacture and servicing.

Engineering before assumption

Projects are assessed around their actual constraints and intended outcome. Geometry, materials and components are selected for the application rather than from a fixed recipe.

Open collaboration

Early conversations are practical and straightforward. MPDG works with customers to define the problem, identify unknowns and agree a sensible route through design, prototyping and production.

How MPDG works

Selected experience

MPDG’s work includes prototype and production development for the Wells Vertige. An early prototype exhaust system was later displayed with the vehicle at the British Motor Museum, with subsequent redesign and production development carried out by MPDG.
